La Marina Zoologica

This park is actually a rescue/ educational center. On Tuesday, I just kind of got an extended tour of the school and was told told that I could leave after about two hours. Adam and I made the most of it by getting the bus system figured out (there is a terminal with busses all over the country a little outside of the city - it has a movie theater and is kind of like a mall). We took one towards Aguas Zarcas so that we could go to the zoo. It was kind of strange and the enclosures were not the most attractive, but we got to get a lot closer to the animals than you would normally be able too and there was like no one around. Adam randomly got swarmed by deer and the animals were all really interested in us. They also had huge bird feeders set up so there were giant macaws hanging around. I was surprised how big they were and in the size of the Tapirs, or Dantas. The bus ride itself was neat because we got to go out into the country and see more residential areas. When we got back, Adam and I each ate a whole Mango. It was awesome, but I think that I overdid it - I have tiny blisters in the corners of my mouth. Its really easy to go to bed early here because we do a lot of walking, have to be at the bus station by 6:15 am, and it gets dark by 6:30 pm.
